Frequently asked questions

How RentFlex.ng works, what you pay, and how we keep rentals safe.

How RentFlex.ng works

What is RentFlex.ng?

RentFlex.ng is a verified rental platform for Nigeria. For tenants, we negotiate flexible monthly payment on yearly-priced homes so you skip the 1–2 year upfront lump. For property owners, we list idle property free, verify it, screen tenants, and bring qualified leads.

Do I really pay monthly instead of a full year upfront?

Where the property and landlord allow it, yes. RentFlex.ng contacts the landlord on your behalf, presents your verified profile, and negotiates monthly terms near the listed yearly value. Whether monthly is available depends on the property, your qualification score, and the landlord's agreement.

Does RentFlex.ng lend me money or pay my landlord upfront?

No. RentFlex.ng does not lend money. We negotiate the terms and run the payments on-platform. (A rent-finance option may be added later with a licensed partner — it is not offered today.)

Payments & fees

What does RentFlex.ng cost a tenant?

A one-time success fee when your lease closes — 5% of the first year's rent, or 3.5% if you are a verified A/B-tier renter. That replaces the traditional 10% agent + 10% legal load, so you pay roughly half the usual fees.

How is rent paid?

Securely through Paystack — card, bank transfer or USSD. Rent goes to the landlord; RentFlex.ng keeps only its fee. Every payment generates a downloadable receipt in your dashboard.

What does it cost a landlord to list?

Listing is free. RentFlex.ng earns a success fee when a lease closes and a small recurring management fee on each monthly rent it collects on your behalf — deducted from your payout, never added to the tenant's rent.

Is my deposit safe?

Deposits, rent, fees and refunds are tracked as separate on-platform records. Money moves through Paystack, not informal cash hand-offs.

Verification & trust

How are listings verified?

We check property photos, location, ownership or agent authority, availability, pricing, and inspection status before a listing is promoted. Bait pricing, fake availability and off-platform collection can suspend a listing.

How are tenants screened?

Tenants complete a screening — income, employer, government ID, and a prior-landlord reference — and get a transparent A–E qualification score. Higher-ranked tenants are cheaper to place and unlock the lower fee.

How do I avoid rental scams?

Keep everything on-platform: never pay inspection, booking or rent fees off-platform or in cash to anyone. Real RentFlex.ng listings show verification status, and all payments run through Paystack with receipts.
